Project DatesSummer 2010

Target participant size for each week are:
100-125 for Family Trips,
50 – 150 for Youth/Adult trips.

Purpose: To teach the spiritual discipline of servant hood and to apply the principles of Christ-centered community transformation by serving in mission work in the North Central West Virginia region. 

Sponsor: World Vision  

Where: Barbour County, Flemington, Grafton, Thornton, Bertha Hill, Scott’s Run, Wallace, Wilsonburg, Clarksburg, Pickens, Selbyville, Norton, Coalton, West Virginia and Morgan County, Ohio  

Who: Youth Groups, Congregations and Families in Partnership with World Vision.

Per Participant Fee: $385*. In addition, please see the chart below for the per group donation for building supplies.

Family Trips
Per Participant Fee: $385* or $180 for children 4-10 years of age (no charge for children 3 years of age and under, who stay in their parents' room), plus a per-family donation for building supplies of $60 per person, $25 for children 4-10.

*The Per Participant Fee includes:

  • All meals during your stay
  • Housing (may be college dorm, 4-H camp, community center or public school)
  • One World Vision Mission Project T-Shirt per person
  • Devotional materials
  • Ministry program for participants in the evening
  • A canoe trip on your day off. Other options are available on your own.
  • Group/Family Leader training for six leaders per group (see training)
  • Project set-up and on-site staffing
  • On-going community involvement by World Vision which includes preparation of community members to receive mission teams.

 Cost DOES NOT include arrangements for or travel to and from mission site or supplies required for your building project (as noted above).

I would like to send my 16 year old son on a mission trip to Appalachia. Can I send him alone, or must he be part of a group?

My husband and I are retired and would like to volunteer for a short term time frame (2-4 weeks) where we could live out of our pop up camper.
