Help fight child poverty in
the U.S.
Not today, tomorrow or any other day...

I won't let poverty rob American kids of their hopes and dreams.

UPDATE: Disaster also costly for survivors 'landlocked' by slide Nearly a month after a deadly mudslide swept through a small Washington community, the blocked highway has created a long detour, forcing families to spend more for gas and tripling those helped at the local food bank.

Gift of new shoes helps families: 'They can have a smile on their face' Two hundred children served by World Vision received new shoes, thanks to the Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids program. Because "kids get overlooked on some stuff,” one mom says, “this is a nice bonus for them."

Help fight hunger in the United States now... Here in the U.S., 1 in every 5 children lives in poverty. Because our economy is in trouble, more and more children and families are going without. Your gift of a Family Food Kit provides a day's worth of nutritious meals for a family of five in the U.S.

Our Impact on Poverty in America

About one out of every five U.S. households experiences "food insecurity"—they run out of money and food in any given month and go hungry, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In response, World Vision prepares and distributes family food kits to serve the most vulnerable children and families in America. Each kit contains three to four meal packets (breakfast, lunch, dinner). That's enough food to feed a family of five for one day by providing sustenance such as oatmeal, lentil soup, and pasta.

In FY2013, World Vision distributed enough family food kits to provide nearly 1 million meals. See how World Vision assists children and families in times of need.

World Vision's U.S. Programs is committed to the well-being of children and youth here at home.

We work to create environments where all children and youth are healthy and thriving, cared for and protected, and making a positive contribution to their communities. We focus our work in some of the nation's most distressed and underserved communities, where poverty is high and opportunities are limited. We also serve in many places where disaster strikes.
